1) Preparation
- Connect MINI DASH with a USB data cable.
- Keep a stable internet connection (firmware is downloaded online).
- Close other tools that might use the same serial/COM port.
Important for macOS: install the WCHUSBSerial (CH34x) driver before your first firmware update:

2) Install the Updater App
macOS
- Download MINI DASH Updater.
- Open the DMG and drag the app to
Applications. - If Gatekeeper warns you: right-click app → Open.
Windows
- Download MINI DASH Updater.
- Run the installer and finish setup.
- Start the updater from Start menu.
3) Firmware Update Step by Step
Step A: Verify MINI DASH
- Click Scan (or Refresh).
- Select the correct serial/COM port.
- Click Verify.
- When the app says MINI DASH is ready, click Next.
Open MINI DASH Updater.
Step B: Install
- Click Start Update.
- The app downloads firmware, verifies it, and installs it.
- Do not unplug USB until the process is complete.
Step C: Done
- You will see Update Complete.
- Use Update Another Device if needed.
4) Update the Updater App (Self-Update)
- The app checks for updates on startup. Alternatively, click top-right gear ⚙ (App Settings).
- Click Check for Updates.
- Click Install Update if available.
- After download, click Restart & Install if the app does not restart automatically.
5) Troubleshooting
No serial/COM port found
- Try another USB data cable.
- Try another USB port.
- Click Refresh.
- On macOS, verify/install WCHUSBSerial and reconnect the device.
Verify fails
- Unplug MINI DASH, wait 5 seconds, reconnect.
- Restart updater and run Scan → select port → Verify again.
Update failed
- Keep USB connected and start update again.
- Close software that might block the serial/COM port.
